VTR is hiring a Field Service Technician to join our growing team in Grimsby. This is a full-time, permanent role supporting our Service Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate, efficient, customer service-focused repair, and installation of VTR machinery at select customer locations in the United States and Europe.

Experience & Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar machine building or service technician role
- Must be available to travel 50 weeks out of the year
- Valid passport and the ability to travel to the United States and internationally, with no criminal background
- G-Class Driver’s License with driver’s record in good standing
- General machining knowledge required
- PLC knowledge an asset
- Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and other technical drawings
- Experience using various hand, power, and air tools
- Proven high degree of accuracy and attention to detail while working under pressure
- Mechanically inclined and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-function team
- Team-oriented and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- CSA-approved safety shoes required
- Must be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs
Service Technician
Position Overview
Position Overview:
- Report to Parts & Service Manager
- Customer Care
- Act as the liaison between VTR and customer
- Completion of daily reports provided to Service Manager
- Customer email follow-ups/check-ins post-service
- Ensure Service Manager is informed of all customer communication
- Off-Site Service
- Resolve immediate VTR machine issues and help resolve non-VTR machine issues when requested
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure feeder equipment is maintained to original specification
- Also responsible for assessing electrical needs, tuning drives, assisting with and monitoring customer run-offs
- Ensure all required service reports are completed before leaving customer site
- On-Site at VTR
- Contact past customers to assist with lead generation as needed
- Assist on assembly floor as directed by Service Manager as needed
- Inspect and pack spare Service parts for upcoming service work as needed
- Post-Service Requirements
- Based on service work completed, communicate recommendations in completed service reports
- Follow up on and complete recommendations made in service reports; document all communication between Service Tech and department leads
- Regular follow-ups with customers before and after service visits
- Clear communication and completion of all necessary reports/documentation with VTR Management and client contacts
- Use of various hand and power tools
- Ensure the use of proper PPE when required
- Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, as well as VTR’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Other related duties as required

Schedule:
- Sunday to Saturday availability
- Travel minimum 80-90% of the year
- Minimum 40 hours/week; Overtime after 40 hours/week
Wage: $35.00-$40.00/hour depending on experience
Ability to commute/relocate:
Grimsby, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Work Location: On-site at VTR’s facility in Grimsby or at customer locations across the US and Europe
